// Agricultural products UK--- Germany down 80% // I'm not surprised -anyone doubting Gulliver go onto the DEFRA site and read how many rules have to be followed to sell anything remotely Agricultural to the EU.

well German media would say that wouldn't they? We have plenty of trading partners now that we don't have to cow tow to the eu
// We have plenty of trading partners now that we don't have to cow tow to the eu//

Jan please read the thread -we are 'Cow Tow-ing' more now to the EU than we were before.
We have more Trading Partners? Who? All the 'big boys' had trade deals in place with the EU of which we were a part of. Now we are out on our own, with no affiliation to one of the biggest trading organisations in the World. The UK now has to negotiate trade deals with Australia,New Zealand China -and one of those wonderful negotiations by boris with the New Zealanders means we will be obliged to take 100's of Tons of NZ Lamb! What about our farmers!
APG,// we have more trading partners, Who?//

And of course for the others with whom we wish to trade, we do so on WTO terms. The notion that if no trade agreement is in place then no trade takes place is childishly simplistic. We have no trading agreement with the USA (and nor, for that matter, does the EU - despite fifteen years of trying). Yet it is by far and away our biggest trading partner and has been for years. It is far easier now to export foodstuffs from the UK to the USA than it is to the EU (which, for these purposes includes Northern Ireland). That is because the EU is set up as a protectionist organisation which aims to stifle trade outside the bloc. Good luck to them with that and long may they prosper (and enjoy Bulgarian cheese).
Only this week ECCHR( European Centre for Constitutional and Human Rights) filed a criminal complaint in Germany against the retailers Hugo Boss, Lidl, C&A, and Aldi accusing them of profiting from the use of slave labour in China. Germany of course has a bit of previous in this activity. Despite this Mrs Murkhell is calling for closer trade cooperation with China for the EUSSR. Way to go. Incidentally China became Germany’s top trading partner in 2018, and BMW and Volkswagen were accused of profiting from the use of slave labour in Xinjiang region even then. Nudge nudge, you help us make a shed load of cheap parts below market price, and we will "sell" you tons of high tech stuff on the cheap. Then you can copy them on the sly and make sure that nobody else can muscle in on the market.
Danny on their terms not ours -so shifting the 'Cow Tow-ing' from one Organisation to another. The deal with NZ could cripple our precarious Agricultural Industry.
"could".

Right, better not do it then.
sorry i just have to point out kowtowing has nothing to do with cows

JAN 56 11.19 "We have plenty of trading partners now" would you care to name them please.
gully, it's the 167 countries that are not in the EUSSR + those that will at some point realise we are a very good trading partner when they tell the EUSSR to shove their socialist protectorate.

Wev'e got the Brexit deal we want ..."It's oven ready " ..said Boris.
Think he meant stuffing the Brexit Turkeys who voted for Christmas.

One of the best German products the Brits seem reluctant to avail themselves of is wine, many better than French. Never understood that, still it means more for me.

TGT @16.00 "those that will at some point realise we are good trading partners"
Are you saying the Con Party had not got all these new trading partners on board to coincide with the UK dropping out of the E/U .Thats what I call bad leadership on Boris's behalf .
//One of the best German products the Brits seem reluctant to avail themselves of is wine//

With added antifreeze. Don't know what made the nuns blue, they weren't likely to suffer with hypothermia.
khandro: "
One of the best German products the Brits seem reluctant to avail themselves of is wine," - you're having a Turkish me old china, German vino is terrible!
TTT Try some of these:

Spätlese Riesling.

Library Release Wachenheimer Goldbächel Riesling 2012. ...
Small chapel Pinot Grigio 2019. ...
Ungsteiner Herrenberg GG Riesling 2017. ...
Ockfener Bockstein Alte Reben Riesling 2018. Reverchon winery.

Then there are the 'Sekts' (German champagnes) some are extremely good & much more sensibly priced than the French ones.

And don't start me on beers - the finest in the world! - I sank a couple of delicious Hefeweizenbiers (wheat beers) early last evening in my golf-clubhouse ..... Wunderschön !

What kind of rubbish are you drinking in the UK, Fosters lager ?
