I wanted to keep ILLEGAL immigrants out - so what ???
Gulliver at 19.14, just like there is no way you will admit that you are wrong about it only being about immigration.

19 17 Burly, nothing to do with legal E/U Immigrants coming to live in the UK of course, and now the Uk is just letting boat loads of refugees and Illegals in. Brexit was a waste of time and money.
The UK is the fifth largest economy in the world with a GDP of 2.8 trillion - to suggest countries will not want to trade with an economic powerhouse is just fanciful nonsense from the op (as per).
Deskdiary, I prefer to call it wishful thinking.
LOL, what an amusing thread ( is to me anyway ), I work for an English company whose customers are mainly German companies and we have seen orders rise over the last three months.

22.13 , At a cost no doubt, what part do you play in the import, export between UK and Germany.?
At a cost of what, we make a profit.

what part do you play in the import, export between UK and Germany.?

Manufacture.
22.13 Well good for you Tony . Why not send a letter into the Farmers Guardian with your merry little tale of ' I'm alright Jack! ' Cos some businesses just aren't, and are suffering and laying people off because of new rules imposed by the EU. But hey ho you just keep sucking on that great big cigar and laughing at the plebs ...until Germany realise they can buy your products cheaper in Poland LOL!
That route has been tried AuntPG, didn't end well.
Question Author
22.52 ,What Line of manufacturing ?
I can't think of anything Germany would need manufacturing in the UK to be honest, but will stand corrected if Tony wishes to enlighten us.
I don’t suppose Germany actually ‘needs’ anything we export to them but by the same token we don’t ‘need’ whatever they export to us, including German cars. We can all go shopping elsewhere - albeit their ‘mall’ is more limited.

Do stop fretting, Gulliver. Nothing we do affects you.

Meanwhile in the real world, Germany finds that it can no longer sell its polluting products complete with fake documents and specifications to Great Britain. As Germany finds that it's state sponsored manufacturing, and polluting steel industries, are past their sell by date and coming under increasing scrutiny from the ecologists and new industry pioneers a free Great Britain benefits from its investments in the fintech sector to the tune of almost £18billion. More than the EUSSR, Middle East , and Africa combined already earned in the future industries that will power the World economies. Our lead in the space technologies moves into another sphere with the new Spaceport announcement. Are you upset that Great Britain is no longer Germanys biggest benefactor? Me Neither. The Germans however now need to find someone else to pay over the odds for their overpriced and outdated products. Will France buy em, or Italy, Albania perhaps?
