Hi People
I am at my wits end just don’t know what to do.
It started when my dog had a problem with his anal gland I took him to the vet he was put on medication. He was barking in the night my neighbor rang to say the dog was disturbing them I apologized and told them he wasn’t well they told me he had also woke them up the previous night. It got that I couldn’t go to bed because he would bark. I got so tired not sleeping I put my dog in kennels for a few days so I could get some sleep. I got him back the vet upped his diazepam
so he would sleep through the night neighbors were back on phone complaining he was barking again. I told them again he hadn’t been well and apologized again. I just don’t know what to do I’m up again with him.

Euthanasia, for either your dog or the neighbours will work.
You choose!
A muzzle at night should stop the barking.
Where does the dog sleep at night?
Hmmm, don't agree Danny
Muzzles stop dogs teeth gaining traction.
They can still make noise though.
1ozzy. but can they bark?
danny - that is cruel.
Yep, they can also whine, yelp, growl, and make any other dog noise.
A muzzle stops them chewing a part of you.
my dogs are cage trained. With blankets over cage to block view theyre quiet for when I have visitors.
why is he barking?
It could be boredom.
Dogs make a lot of noise and destroy things when they are bored.
As do other animals.
Does your dog have an action packed day that a dog would like?
Or is the poor creature bored?
Perhaps he wants to be with you because hes not well. Our dog always sleeps on our bed without ever a peep, I know not everyone agrees but its worth a try.
All the dogs I ever had slept on a blanket in the bedroom but never on the bed.
He may have just learned that the more he barks the more you come to give him attention, everytime you go to quieten him you reinforce the very behaviour you don't want.
Your neighbours do have the right to live without being disturbed. I think it might
be time you considered a canine psychologist. They can be effective in helping you solve the problem
How old is he, does he get a lot of exercise, what's wrong with his anal gland ? In my experience, they either need emptying or removing ..

Thank you for all your answers my dog is nine yes his anal gland was blocked and flushed out by the vet.
His temperature is now back to normal and he is at present staying with my daughter.
The neighbors on the other hand also have a dog which I have heard barking early mornings it seems I am more tolerant of them
I would move him into your room on a blanket with an item of your clothes to calm him, give him a good walk last thing at night to make him tired and sleep better
