Hi all,
I am lookinmg onto fittinng a multi fuel stove in my house. It would need to be rear exit flue.

How do I bore a hole in the wall 7" diameter to fit the flue pipe which will be 5" diameter?

I have a brick house with plasterboard.

As a DIY person I would do it by drilling a 7" ring of small holes + more in the middle and then break it out with a chisel. TheBuilder will probably have a better idea as he has a wider knowledge of and access to tools than I have.
Due respects to Bookbinder, but I wouldn't even think of using a 7" core drill unless you really must have a clean hole. You'd need to rent a big ol' drill to drive it.

As often, I'm with bhg on this. A ring of 1" holes using an SDS drill. An SDS is far more powerful than a simple masonry drill.
A longish cold chisel would be fine to complete the hole, but a small demolition hammer (Kango or Hilti or similar) would be a lot easier.

Actually, a 6kg SDS demolition drill would be fine for all of it.

Cheers guys.
I do have an SDS drill buy not the attachments. I will look out for them.
A 1" hole cutter should be ok.

Michael.
Or just an ordinary 1" drill bit Michael.
Even a 20mm would do.
Good luck :o)
