You need charisma and a bit of 'wow' factor to appeal to the voters, Boris has it, as did Cameron, Blair, Thatcher, Wilson, MacMillan, Churchill, where as May, Brown, Major, Callaghan, Heath, Douglas-Home didn't have it.
Labour will be in the wilderness for many years IMO under this man.

Blair campaigned under the banner of New Labour, distancing himself from traditional Labour, so to that extent he cannot be considered a socialist.

Clement Attlee was considered to be the most boring,most uncharismatic human beings that ever lived.However he is part of the triumvirate of the best prime ministers this country has ever had-Attlee,Churchill,Thatcher.Its a pity we cant get leaders of this calibre anymore.Certainly not Sp*ffy and Sp*nky thats for sure.

In 1945 Attlee had a majority of 150. In 1950 this was reduced to 6. In 1951 the Tories had a majority of 17. Still Attlee clung on to fight the 1955 election, when the Tories increased their majority to 60. Only then did he throw in the towel at the age of 72.

mr Starmer's speech doesn't appear to have excited momentum very much - at best they describe it as a "missed opportunity". oh dear.

The only missed opportunity,Mushroom,is the fact that Starmer hasnt grabbed the nettle and extirpated the Corbyn and Momentum cancer from the Labour Party.Until he does so and does so mercilessly ,the Labour Party will never win an election for a long time.

Momentum is just what is known as a “ginger” group.
Most parties have them just not necessarily on their scale.
The thing that’ll thwart SKS is probably simple numbers. Even regaining the so-called red wall seats won’t be enough. He’ll probably need to open up the Lib Dems and SNP. Something along those lines might be a positive thing after all the tribalism of recent years
