This sort of thing needs to stop and security need to get their act together.  OK so only glitter but who knows waht it could be?

we know what he said - but what exactly was he protesting against - or for?

or was it - as some cynics are claiming - a publicity stunt by the party?

The only way to get a shine on Sir Keir.

I firmly believe this was actually staged. It would not surprise me in the slightest if this was down to Mandelson. Looking at the footage, Starmer does not look overly surprised...

That useless fool and his lemmings cant even secure a conference, let alone a country...

Well, you know what they say. You can't polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter.

I have to agree with JimF, glitter wasn't messy enough to make it really bad & I find it hard to believe he waltzed through the very obviously close security personnel.

Sorry - should be "security"...

I doubt it was staged (!)

Party conferences esp leaders speeches are planned to run smoothly like and anything like this just makes the party look bad. And asking reasonable questions like the above

ich - sorry, but imo it doesn't make the party look bad, it makes Starmer look good; "Oh, that could have been so much worse, but how well he coped!  Isn't he marvellous!".

If I'm a miscreant, I'm going for ink (now that'd be a look for a while) or at least something gungy.  After all, I've made it past "security", why bother with something naff?

Sorry, but I have very little faith in the veracity of much I see & read about when it comes to politics these days.

I don't think was staged.

probably gulliver.

It was something to brighten him up at least.... give him a bit of sparkle.  ;o)

Staged or not, it's getting public city.

I'll give you that, Naomi 🙂, though I'm still 🤔

Lol....... public city .

They dragged him out along the floor.

The local constabulary seem to have magiced two or three charges to pin on him. I suppose littering could be one.God help us if that's how he organises conference security.

I am a supporter of Starmer but I fail to see how having a bloke come up to you and then get unceremoniously dragged away makes you look good. Mind you if he came out of it well I guess this will be the predictable and cynical response.

So win win :-)

Charged with littering - or in this case glittering, retro.  ;o)

I'm surprised you support him, ich.
