Does anyone think it is now time for the Queen to step down and let Charles take the reins? She has been at Balmoral for such a long time with no sign of her returning to London. I do know the oath she took at her Coronation but maybe enough is enough?

Step down? I cant see that happening. Once old jug ears gets is hand on the Crown I foresee the Monarchy disappearing into the abyss as he meddles in Government unlike his mother.

Still, that could be a good thing as far as I am concerned. I have no problem with the Queen but once she has popped her clogs its time for this whole bunch of spongers to move on and mooch of someone else.
Nooooo, god save the Queen and God Save the Monarchy as well :0)
She's effectively been retired by Covid. I don't see any how she can ever mingle with her people again at her age.
You're obviously forgetting the £Trillions spent by tourists who arrive in their billions to gawp in wonder at a dynasty chosen by God to reign over us, happy and glorious. :-P
When Prince Albert died, Queen Victoria went into self isolation and wasn't seen in public for many years, in fact I think I read somewhere that she never came back to London, but she remained Queen until the day she died. I think our Queen will remain Queen until the day she dies, but I think she will pass more of her duties to Prince Charles and other members of the Royal family and rightly so, but I don't think she will ever abdicate.

Nice avatar YMB, shame the Union Flag is upside down.
Same "trillions" would still be spent though. They dont come to gawp at the Monarch, they are rarely on show to the general tourist.
No, and she wouldn't anyway.
No

No

She has drastically reduced the amount of commitments she had and already Charles/Camilla and William/Katherine are deputising for her. But there is no need for her to step down.

oh dear balders the flag cannot be upside down if there is no pole.
We see you share the sainted Margarets eye for the gag, ymb.
If you pin, glue, or sellotape a flag to the wall it can still be at any orientation.

I suspect it's deliberate and making a valid point.
