I don't believe there is a parallel, except for the media interest, I am obviously not going to sideline the thread into the rights and wrongs of Mrs Lawrence's approach here.
If we are talking about media response, then your comparison does not hold up.
Eight pages in the Mail yesterday, nine today - I am sure Mrs Lawrence would have dreamed of that level and intensity of coverage for her son's murder.
The notion that the Lawrences are 'middle class' and that somehow sustains the interest is again not valid - the coverage now is not about them, it is about a suspect, and it brings me back to my original question - why the media furore over this one child?
I understand that the media prints what the public want to read, so again - why is the public so obsessed?
