Just had my walk, other than the odd walker like myself its deserted. I've never seen the roads and verges so spotless, the litter is almost next to none, its got to be the first time I've gone out and not seen a pile of remains/ litter, from McDonalds in the middle of the road, the crows and the like of, seem to have lost weight, ( no McDonalds) :0) No traffic, so no road kill, and saw at least 2 Kestrels hovering happily overhead instead of being smashed to bits in the road. But now back home I'm wondering what way I want it. ????

top of Oldham rd - Macnhester I started out on the crossing and a car looked as tho it was going to career into me ( er stopiping my career short) whilst I cd see the passenger like in a scene from Airplane screaming - stop! stop !

In Scotland Red Kites were hunted almost to extinction. I'm glad they are making a comeback despite what some farmers think.

We often have several buzzards circling, Prudie. We have loads of buzzards and red kites. I put food out for them (the remains of bunnies that the cat has partially eaten) and not noticed any aggression. They won't come in the garden when I'm out here.

Red Kites are so easily identified, impossible to mistake for anything else with their forked tail.
Yes, Scottish landowners have a lot to answer for regarding the of killing Red Kites. RKs are lazy, much easier to feed on roadkill than to track and kill another creature.

Ha ha, the only pest on the planet at the moment is the human pest, if the human pest hadn't interfered with the animal, we wouldn't have the problem we have now.

Re Red kites Plenty of articles about their aggression online. This one is old but since then the problem has got worse in the Chilterns as they've multiplied to ridiculous levels.
