Why fruit and veg? how much can you store before it rots? I can just imagine these morons with rooms full of the stuff that they'll end up binning.

How about stores just supply baskets instead of trollies?....
People would just fill the basket go to the car and return over and over -thus helping spread any germs
Yes but in the meantime, there would be more toilet rolls for more people...
Husband and wife only have to split up and they can get double of everything, trolley or basket! Bet some are doing that.

APG, 12:03, pretty callous, can you not recognise true despair when you see it?
I suppose it could be Meryl Streep doing one of her voices as a hoax, TTT ... but I'm inclined to agree with you

jno: "TTT ... but I'm inclined to agree with you" - I need a lie down!
//A supermarket worker made me laugh yesterday. I was looking for a bag of flour - "not one to be had", the lady told me - and added, ''the hoarders probably don't know what to do with it now they've got it!"

I suspect she could be right.//

Indeed, naomi. During my foray to Tesco’s yesterday I saw people progressing through the store, simply filling their trolleys with anything and everything. Much of it was taken from the shelves and the freezers without even looking what it was. It was a bit like the late “Wensley” Dale Winton’s “Supermarket Sweep”:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supermarket_Sweep_%28British_game_show%29

During my hour in the queue I heard one woman discussing, with her friend, the two “jumbo” kitchen rolls she had in her trolley “Well I’ve got plenty at home. In fact I’m running out of space to store them, But I thought, well, since they’ve got some…”

//Of course we didn’t really “leave” the EU on Jan 31.
And just as well perhaps -//

And what exactly has the EU done to help its members (or us), Ikky? I’ve heard about their intense disagreement over how to support their members financially. I’ve also heard Frau Merkel declare that German medical goods were not to be exported and the cessation of cross-border travel (so two of the EU’s inviolate “fundamental freedoms” downed at a stroke as soon as the going gets tough). Oh, and I understand they have cancelled the latest episode of their ten-times-a-year circus and jamboree when they all up sticks from Brussels to Strasbourg (which will probably encourage the French fishermen to blockade Calais for a few days). Apart from that, not much of any use at all.

//Think most Brits are using this virus as an excuse to Panick buy food etc. But they are really stocking up in case Brexit is ever Finalised.//

And there’s me thinking this might be an interesting and intelligent thread!
I was told I needed a mask and gloves to visit Tesco,
When I got there everyone else had clothes on.
Pinching that one Jordy
16.42, N/J It was a interesting and intelligent thread, until you decided otherwise. Do try to understand you are not Judge Jury and Convictor OK.
