I've decided that between 8pm and 9pm on Monday evening I'm going to be gender-fluid and identify as a woman.

As we're told this is a real thing, and further, we're told to accept it and respect a person's decision, I trust my local swimming baths will be accommodating and respect my right to identify as a woman for the hour I'm there.

My reason for choosing to identify as a woman is so I can share the women's changing room with a stunning yummy mummy who goes to the baths the same time as me. I suspect she may find it uncomfortable and object to me being there, but if she doesn't accept and respect my gender-fluidity for the hour, then clearly she must be genderfluidphobic.

I think all of the above is entirely reasonable and is in no way utterly absurd.
don;t know any people to ask to be honest.

Great best answer.
^^^Thanks.
I'm astonished the swimming pool theme took so long to come to the fore, we have normally not got to wait long for that or a Crufts pun.

Maybe gender fluidity is increasing on AB amongst some.
Well it had to come. Our local swimming pool has muslim only female swimming hours.
Some pools do, yes and I'm always surprised how many want to join them.
Gender-fluid muslims...!?!

Lordy, there's a whole new thread just waiting to be pounced on....
We never quite get the same rush to be able to join in the pre-schoolers splash sessions.
Excellent Best Answer. :o)))
I know it's de rigueur to want to he seen as so achingly right-on, but surely Mamy you can see problems arising from the whole gender fluidity nonsense can't You?

Apparently we're meant to accept that Barry the hairy backsided builder can choose to be Brenda for a bit, and if he so chooses will expect to have the right to be treated as a woman.

Some people are happy to suspend common sense and feel this is normal.

But I simply cannot.
Obviously there are and will be problems that need to be addressed and discussed in an adult way when situations arise.

Please don't include me as achingly 'on' anything.

Crikey Mamyalynne - you are truly priceless.

You scoff when somebody suggests gender fluidity is nonsense, and then you get uppity because you are accused of being achingly right-on.

A word of advice...try and be consistent. Some people, heaven forfend, have a different viewpoint to you.

Of course they do and their different opinions should be heard it just bemuses me that the conversations tend to get mock humorous with dog show references and hairy backsided side splitting (?) remarks.

I have more grown up conversation with children.

Trust me I'm not priceless either.
^^^Point proven.
Can you pee up a wall? Male.
No? Female.
Sometimes there's nothing better than a nice sit down.
