"The mother and daughter were forced into the extended stay because North East Lincolnshire Council has yet to find them a new home in Grimsby."

Seems they were forced into this dread situation. there is no "may have"'s about that one.
Nonsense, AOG. My son was in hospital and they provided me with a bed 24/7
Can any one suggest why and how East Lincolshire Council can move another tenant into the council house they lived in. A load more in this story than we are told methinks.

According to you it is Right-Wing to be concerned regarding the waste of NHS money, but then perhaps it is knowing the Left-Wing's record on the handling of the British Tax-Payers cash.
Retrocop, don't know why your pension would be cut if you had to stay in hospital

The right wing are begging for privatisation this would do the trick getting the thoughts swaying that way. Regarding the tax, we've no idea how much tax payers money has been spent on them. However, equivilenting it to how much rent would cost is not a good guesstimate.

I see it was revoked after April 2006. I recall a letter from DWP telling me I must inform them when my mother was admittd from her care home to a hospital after a fall (susequently fatal). Looks like it was 52 weeks then.
Being offered a bed to be with someone ill, in need of hospital care, when it's available, is one thing. Housing two people when neither should be there is quite another.

I have to say I thought some benefits stop if you are an inpatient
I always told people not to tell ....

[I have been dobbed in at least five times usually about partial sight .... for chrissakes I walk into things like trees and dustbins.....] and along comes a clerk with a clip board...
to be honest this sounds like classical bed blocking rather than illegal occupation ....

everyone agrees they need X Y and Z ( ground floor, etc) and none has come empty - in a year ....

Time for a reprise of my brudda 1972 - OOK mrs smith time to go home with your family

If my recent thread on this updated subject matter had been allowed, one would have read that they have now been offered suitable accommodation in Grimsby but have refused, by stating they don't want to live in Grimsby because of the racism shown towards them.
These two should be sent home immediately, well at least back to Grimsby.
Aog. What " other; " home should they be sent to?

the one in grimsby.
When my mother was taken into hospital thirty nyears ago after a stroke I had an interview with Welfare Service woman - how much money? not much), value of house? (not lot) When I advised DWP of my wife's death first question was "how long was she in hospital?".

People who live off the state (i.e. other people's money) have no reason to concern themselves, but people who work and pay taxes know these basics.
