God bless the NHS staff but not its lengthy waiting lists.
they should be requested to leave and return to their place of residence where they can be re-housed.
//They said that if Ruth and Mimi returned to Grimsby, they would provide them with accommodation//
what a waste of public money.

Shocking.
how come they were allowed to stay so long by the NHS.
Doesn't make any sense at all.
I find it hard to believe that the council could not find them ground floor accommodation within 15 months. Disgraceful!

Free food as well, living the life of riley.
sparklykid - what do you expect them to do - with a disabled daughter they cannot live on the 2nd floor.
Also 2 people living in 1 room is hardly living the life of riley!
Earlier this year I underwent a quadruple heart bypass by the NHS.
I was dischaged after four days post op. I neither felt strong enough to be discharged, was in great pain and ill equipped at home to bath or get in and out of bed. I could not negotiate our stairs and slept downstairs in a spare room. I was not consulted regarding my disquiet about early discharge but told we need your bed.
I suppose I was very lucky. As a pensioner I would of forfeited part of my pension if I blocked a bed for two or three weeks to pay for my stay.
What do these two contribute I ask myself?
At £150,000 for 15 months it would have been far cheaper for the NHS to find them a private rental - and pay the rent for them! Sheesh!
Total lack of joined up thinking in this case, perhaps the publicity will kick start some action.
The NHS should have booted them out and pay the coach fare back to Grimsby if necessary. Then the Council would have found them accommodation.

This situation is ludicrous and the Hospital has done the tow of them no favours.
Just can't understand the hospital allowing this to go on - don't they need the beds ???

Are you for real? In this case it is, it would be a much harsher world for them, outside those Hospital walls.

Anyway why was the Mother also in hospital, it was from all accounts her daughter that was sick, her mother should have only been allowed to visit her daughter like most have to do.

What did I say in an earlier thread? The NHS was in a much better state before Labour introduced mass immigration.
We only think it's a waste because it's not our own family members in this position. I'm sure everyone really wishes to live in a hospital bed with their mum? Delusion.

Notice the DM uses words like "may have"?? yeah they "may have" made that up to get ur blood pumping. Standard for the right winged news article to try and cause this kind of commotion.
"In this case it is"

No, no it really is not.

I think that you will find that the Hospital has done the two of them, £150,000 worth of favours.
The NHS have a duty to care and when it's you in that position you'll be happy about that. The real issue is evidently the Grimsby council.
AOG i think you'll find they "may have" done that, they also "may have" not.
