Watching George and Larry Lamb having a problem with cows made me think.
Many years ago I lived in a cottage on the banks of a canal. One day I was looking out of an upstairs window and saw about five cows being herded along the towpath by a lady. She opened my gate and herded them into my garden. I suddenly thought I've left the patio doors open. I ran downstairs and there was a cow in my lounge!
I panicked and did a stupid thing. I phoned my husband at work and asked what do I do?
He told me not to be so stupid and shoo it out the house. I did and locked the door.
The lady called later and explained she herded them in my garden while she got the farmer to come and rescue them, which he did later to my relief.
I got some choice words from husband when he came home, like what could he do twenty miles away, you stupid woman! Memories eh!
lol .this reminded me of my mum .many years ago mum opened the back door and called my dad (who was in sitting room) saying there's a cow on the backdoor step.they had escaped from the farm up the road,it was like a scene from a comedy show ,happy memories xx
