A while back I put on a question about what to do about the dead patch of my lawn. Just dug the patch up and found this.

What is it? And is it tuning my grass yellow?

Well done Emeritus. Given the time of year I am pretty confident that it is leatherjacket. Crane Fly(Daddy Long Legs)larvae. It is a bit early for adult Chaffer grubs. Not difficult to treat.
