I'm glad I'm not one.

Watching the Winter Olympics on Saturday morning, one said 'he's in his stripseam'

A different sport, different commentator, 'well, that's good, he's gapped the bridge'

Poor souls but good entertainment value :-D

Alba, Private Eye has a very long-running feature in each issue called 'Commentatorballs' (used to be Colemanballs), which has many many such examples. I think they used to publish them in book form.

the late Mr Coleman is missed.
Wasn't it he who uttered
'she opened her legs and showed her class'?

Will have a look GG, thanks :-)
I think it was a 'he' that opened his legs :)
I think it happened when David Coleman was commentating on Alberto Juantarena the Cuban athlete, (aka White Lightning), who won 400m and 800m gold medals in the 1976 Olympics.

thanks GG and Flonska.

Still priceless, not forgetting the infamous 'and for those of you watching in black and white.....'
did nt someone else also
"pull out the big one ?"
the best cricket one is
"the bowlers holding the batsman's willy" lol
"For those of you watching in black and white, Spurs are in the all-yellow strip" John Motson

''I was saying the other day, how often the most vulnerable area for goalies is between their legs..." Andy Gray

"Its a great advantage to be able to hurdle with both legs" (David Coleman)
I had to pull over whilst listening to Brian Johnston and Jonathan Agnew started giggling after Jonners said " he didn't quite get his leg over" and they carried on for two minutes.
Oops other way round Aggers said it. It's on you tube.
