Chilly morning to you all. The meetings appear to be on, for now at least, and I hope the gee gees have got their winter coats on. Could do with going a bit better than last week although I am not complaining about a little return. I have given the early Beecher Chase at Aintree a gentle swerve as it is not the race to start a multi bet with, but I note that there is a sentimental mug's double with the stalwart Highland Lodge in it, and Highland Reel who runs in the Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin early tomorrow. Highland Reel's last race before retiring to stud. I have taken early prices and B.O.G. on the following. Good luck if you have a go.

Present Times @9/4 2.10 Chepstow
Jenkins @11/2 2.20 Sandown
Arctic Gold @9/1 3.10 Aintree
The Happy Chappy @8/1 3.30 Sandown ( Missed the 11/1 on offer earlier)

£1.00 E/W Acca. 4 X 20p E/W Trebles. 6 x 20p E/W Doubles. Total Stake £6.00

A 'sensible' Round Robin and a speculative Lucky 15 for me , today.

12.45 Wet; On A Promise @ 9/2
2.45 Chep; Bob Ford @ 11/2 (mugs rev f/c with Wild West Wind)
3.20 Chep; Longtown @ 9/2

Prices too short for e.w. purposes so straight £1 R Robin which, hopefully, nets £362.

1.30 Ain; Westerner Point @ 12/1
2.20 San; Jenkins @ 13/2
3.10 Ain; Captain Redbeard @ 14/1
3.30 San; Cresswell Breeze @ 9/1

Win singles, 20p lucky 15, 50p e.w. acca. 4 placed nets just short of £78, 4 winners nets £11,578.

Good luck punters.

Morning Ken. I think I hovered over all your Aintree and Sandown picks before finally choosing. Good Luck.
Done plenty of hovering, myself, Togo. For finishing 3rd in last month's nap competition with RC, i have a £50 free bet with Willy Hill and it has to be used as one bet (e.w, win, acca, etc) - it is not £50 betting credit. So i've been looking at the so-called sure things with a view to putting them in an acca. However, we all know what often happens to sure things so i'm looking away from racing - maybe football or snooker - to place the free bet. Decisions, decisions :-/

Well I wish you the very best with that Ken. For me, I think I would be keeping away from a big acca. £50 is a lot top roll over. I take it you get to pocket the winnings? If so I think I would have the wedge on a good evens or so bet and then use the dosh to go for a roll up on my own terms.
Yeah, Togo, the winnings are paid in cash but do not (obviously) include the initial stake. Not the first time i've been faced with the problem and i have a mixed success rate with both going for a big hit and being sensible and taking evens or so. On the one hand, i don't lose anything because it's a freebie. On the other......................... I ave until the 14th Dec to use it before it expires so i don't have to do it today. I'll let you know where and when i've placed it when the time comes:-)

Good thinking Ken.
With one eye on the weather forecasts, i've had a peek at the racing fixtures for the next few days and there's nothing leaping out at me to persuade me to hang fire with the free bet. So, it's being used today. The following 7 teams really, really, really ought to win (and are all priced accordingly) but, for the purpose of my bet, they don't have to. All they have to do is to win either half. They could be 10-0 down at half time and if the final score is 10-1, then they've won the 2nd half. So, beginning at 1430 today and ending with a 1400 kick off tomorrow, here's the 7 sides who need win just the one half;

Leipzig, Bayern Munich, AZ Alkmaar, R Madrid, Benfica, Celtic and Napoli.

Should that occur, i'll be richer by £117.92p (Obvs a £50 stake in real terms would return £167.92)
First 5 sides have obliged so waiting (note, not sweating) on Celtic and Napoli). Yesterdays half time/full time scores were;

Leipzig 2-1/2-2, Munich 1-0/1-0, AZ 0-0, 5-0, Madrid 5-0/5-0 & Benfica 2-0/3-0.

Good Luck Ken. Fingers crossed for you. I was hopeless yesterday. :((
Of course, neither of today's 2 massively odds on shots could manage to win one half of the match:-(((((((((((

Noticed Celtic go 2 up and then.........***. Hard luck Ken.

Hi Ken, Just a quick one. :)) Did you spot the 12.30 at Taunton today? There were 2 X 200/1ers. 2 X 100/1ers. and a 150/1 shot in a novice hurdle with 11 runners. I threw £1 on the 100/1 shots and 50p on the other 3, all win. I didn't even give it a thought until a few minutes ago. I had forgotten as I rarely have a weekday tickle. Samuel Jackson romped home at 100/1. Haha £96.50 profit just by looking at "the book". One to watch, ran on like a train. Just watched it on replay and was shouting it home even though I knew it had won.
