I'm not be funny here this is a genuine question I was just wondering if you are mute and there is an accident how do you communicate for help? Do they have any special emergency helpline? Same question for if you are deaf too, how do you get help?

I presume that they have an emergency text line. Ive seen them being used by the deaf and government departments for tax and benefits advertise that they can use these systems. It must be the same.
They could use what is known as a Lifeline Unit. The system is connected to a telephone socket and the user has a pendant which is a personal radio alarm trigger which is designed to hang round the neck. They can summon help either by pushing the button on the pendant or by pushing a button on the Lifeline unit. When they have activated the Lifeline, details of their circumstances will appear on a computer screen at a Control Centre. The Duty Officer will then contact the nominated keyholders who in turn will be expected to call on them immediately. If the keyholders are unavailable or it is obvious that medical help is needed, either a doctor or the emergency services will be called.

Thanks for the answers. What if a mute person is out and comes across an accident and has to ring 999?

Maybe they have a mobile and can text from that? If you were stuck alone in middle of no-where and had no phone you'd be in same boat really if you came across an accident. Youd run and get help somewhere. A mute person would be able to communicate in other ways.

If Lassie can do it.............

Whats that skippy? A little boy trapped down a well...?
