Just been out to walk the dog and I was amazed at how bright and clear the Moon is tonight, it's worth going out to have a look. It is not so much the brightness ,though that is enough to show a strong 'Moon Shadow', but the clarity. You can see all details of the face of the Moon with the naked eye better than I can ever remember before. My son is a keen photographer and I have just bought him a 600mm mirror lens, he is going to put it on his camera and take a few photos and email them to me. I'll share them on here if they are any good.

Wonderful, isn't it?

'Twill be frosty tonight, methinks.
Might be something to do with Jupiter being close to it tonight ?

It sure is a stunner.
I was chucked out of the supermarket for the first time in my life

and I thought of the primary skool adage - I dont have to look out of a window to know it is a full moon.

[ the dog was waiting for me outside - and upset the staff. when someone looks at a pedigree labrador and says : "I think it is a stray come in from the fields" you know it is gonna be a bad evening. I dunno what they did to the dog: it was glued to my side on the walk home ..... ]
Its a bright big yellow thing here in Swansea !
I'd rather not moon tonight, it's too cold.
Just been out and had another look. It's freezing!

I did locate Sirius, though. That's a bonus. (and Jupiter, of course)
It was the Lenten Moon last night. So bright here at 3am I thought it was morning and got up!
Thanks for the mention of the moon. I'll check it out later around 7:30pm.
You should have looked at the clock, Mazie.

I went to the loo around that time and didn't have to put the light on.
It was rising o'er Birnam Wood as I made my way south on the A9 this evening. Very pictureskew.
I looked at the clock when I got downstairs Tilly...didn't feel tired so stayed up. Feeling it now though :o(
I was passing Birnam Wood at about 3pm today douglas
I thought it was you, Tilly. I did doff my trilby, don't know if you noticed though. :-)
Sorry, Mazie. Must be the lunar rays.
Not me, Douglas. Never been that far North.
Well, I have, actually. Have been to The North Cape but that's not Scotland.
Been a lovely sunny day here for a change douglas. Had a little run up to The Hermitage at Dunkeld, spot of breakfast and a trip into Perth to see The SiL.
I think is what my Mum used to call "A bombers moon"
