Cyprus is an EU member state and all members are obliged to recognise EU passports throughout the whole of their nominal validity. So, as long as your passport is valid for travel on the date you leave Cyprus, you'll have no problems.

is that including the north of cyprus? i only ask cause i thoughtyou had to have a seperate visa to go there or that if you had a noth stamp in the passport you couldn't go to the south
The status of the 'Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus' is very much a grey area. For example, the EU regards the whole of Cyprus as being within the EU but, if you travel back from Northern Cyprus to the UK, you're only entitled to bring back tobacco and alcohol up to the limits which apply to non-EU countries. (That's because tax hasn't been paid to an administration which is recognised by the EU).

However, Northern Cyprus doesn't require EU citizens (staying for up to 90 days) to hold a visa. As far as I know, they also don't place any restrictions on passport validity:

If you travel to North Cyprus, the border controls will provide you with a blank slip of paper to receive your entry stamp rather than stamp your passport. Find out more about border crossings to North Cyprus here: http://www.cyprus44.com/holidays/border-crossi ngs.asp
