we as a family are due to travel to sharm el sheik in egypt. my children aged 12 and 9 are on there mothers passport which is valid until 2008.are they ok to travel to egypt on this or do they need a full passport each?

Although it is no longer possible to have children included on an adult passport, passports which already have children named on them remain valid both for the adult and (as long as the adult travels with them) for the children as well:
