Does anyone know if you can still get to Australia on a boat? I've tried looking it up on the net but I can only find cargo ships. I'm graduating this year and need to run away for a bit!

Everyone goes by plane and I want to try something different - fancy a bit of an adventure!

You can do it by cruise ship as well - look for round the world trips - you don't have to book the whole thing.

If you are adventurous, check this site... it can be a lot of fun if you have the time...

Best of travel!

I'm with Clanad on this one. It has long been an ambition of mine to travel passenger/cargo to NZ and return. Certainly the accommodation would generally be superior to a cruise ship as would food and liquor. Also, I understand they have pretty good entertainment too but imagine it depends on your age. My investigations show it's not cheap as of course, the journey is that much longer. Rule of thumb is about 120 per day. Good luck, I think it's an idea well worth pursuing.
p.s. Recommend you have a scuttle around Google, using different leads. i.e. Passenger/cargo travel.
