Dresden

I've decided this is my next destination. For anyone who has been, how many days / nights do you think I would need to explore the whole city? Any interesting excursions I could take one of the days?

Has no one on AB been to Dresden? ;-)

On another note, confirmed case of Covid-19 in our hotel in Famagusta which is now under quarantine. We're due to fly in 6 weeks :-(

We've been to Dresden a couple of times. On both occasions we stayed outside and just had a single day in the city itself - plenty of time to see the major sights (cathedral, zwinger etc) which took us about 4-5 hours. We visited a few castles/palaces in the area but we had our own car and don't mind driving, so they may not be options for you.

My mother was born in Dresden..............totally irrelevant I know. But I have never been there.
