As I mentioned the other day, we are going on an overnight trip to Calais to stock up on the wine. Usually when we do this we eat at a fantastic Chinese Buffet. In view of the Coronavirus would you think it is safe to go to the restaurant?

Why not? If you thought like that all the time - viruses, terrorism, being attacked, tripping over and banging your nose - you'd never go anywhere.
I doubt the people who run it are from the Chinese mainland.
The ones who run the 'Chinese' buffet near me are from Vietnam.
No more risk than any other public place IMO.
The logical answer is that if the virus was present, the cooks wouldn't be. :o)

I didn't give it any thought. It was other people saying to us "Don't chance it"
Is it a 'Panda Wok' branch?
I would still go to the restaurant I like. If you go to the non-Chinese one down the road, how do you know the staff there haven’t come in contact with the staff in the Chinese one, assuming one of them might possibly have the virus?

It's called "Au Pavillion des Delices" it's just out of Calais at Coquelles.
I've been to 4 different 'Chinese' buffets in various parts of France and all have been run by Vietnamese because of the French colonial association with Vietnam.
