Why is it that when I am typing something on Word, and if I go back to add a word in, it "eats" the word that was previously on the page? And I then have to re-type the whole sentence. What causes this? And how can I stop it!?!

Help please!!!!

You've got it set to 'overwrite'. If you press the 'insert' key it will be set to insert and will not do this.
It's easy to hit the 'insert' key accidentally too.  I do it all the time and it annoys me!
