I have a Panasonic DVD recorder that has become very temperamental. When I try and record from my camcorder to mini DV, it records but when I press STOP, and it starts to write the disc, it switches itself off- screen goes black, machine takes ages to come back on etc.
What is causing this? Can it be fixed or do I just need a new one? It's about 2.5 years old.
Thanks

Have you tried writing to a standard size dvd RW ?

Standard size dvd rw? No I haven't! What difference will that make? Sorry- am not too clever!! x
It could be that your machine does not like the mini discs.

Worth a try with a standard size Dvd RW

So will RW fit okay? I was always told to use DIVD-Rs!
I only suggested RW so that if the results were not satisfactory, you would not have wasted a disk. Yes, RW will suit.
