How do you stop someone from hacking into your computer if they have your password? Can I change my password and stop anyone from being able to read my emails?
If you mean getting into your computer, you can change the password by going to control panel, then user accounts, then changing the password from there.
if your security has been compromised ... you need to change all your passwords ... machine, e-mail bank etc etc.
but the most important password is your windows password .... I have a "toolkit" of password utilities and could recover 95-99% of your passwords (machine and online) in about 30 mins
.... but why would I bother?
fo3nix is right there is no such thing as "secure" ... but you can hinder the hacker.
ask yourself
Are you worth all the effort needed to crack a password?
well unless you are running microsoft exhange for email you email password is most likey differnet to your computer password. For example its most popluar to use either pop or imap for an email account and this will have a differnet password to your windows account unless you have set it the same.
Its always best practice to have a number of passwords to use and to use numbers and letters in your password. If you memory is not what is used to be or you hate remembering password you could get this fingerprint reader from microsoft. Just touch you finger on the pad and it will log you into you account in windows. You can also use it on websites to login.
You can reset windows user account password in safe mode (F8 when booting up). But if you forgot administrator password, you have to reinstall windows OS or use windows password recovery software. If you don't want to reinstall windows, maybe Google third party password recovery tool or Google “windows password seeker” can help you. http://www.passwordseeker.com
