Does anyone have experience with one of these. I am considering buying as gift to my husband who has fairly limited PC knowledge. I spoke to someone at a supplier who say very easy and with full instructions. although my husband has a few old records (Trad Jazzz) he has a large number of recordings from radio on audio tapes which I think could be better stored on CD. All those I have seen advertised appear to be open without a cover - can anyone confirm this - thank you

My neighbour recently bought one of these and rather than reading the instructions, he tried for 30 seconds and then called me to help. After reading the enclosed instructions for a couple of minutes, I transferred a few minutes of audio, cleaned it up and split it into 2 tracks with no problems at all... Having said that, I am a bit of a computer addict and the menus are similar to other recording software.

There is no cover with the USB turntable, so a cloth or something would have to be used.

If it's tapes that your husband would prefer to record, you might prefer to have a look at this: http://www.firebox.com/product/1700?src_t=t20

Post back if you need any more info!!

Thanks Matt have had a look - given me a couple of things to think about. No cover could be a bit of a problem, not sure if he has available slot on his PC - will give it further thought as no stock at present anyway
Have a look at this previous thread and mention of the Bush turntable (with cover):-
