DVD + or -?

What is the difference in thses two types of disc, is one better than the other for burning DVDs and why is it necessary to choose the write speed when creating DVDs for - but not +?

the difference is purely technical. they both look the same.


the only thing you need to know is that not all machines can write to both + and -, though these days most can do both. Just make sure the machine you're using can write to the type you choose.


I don't think it's necessary to choose the write speed for either; it'll either say on the disc the max speed, or it can be determined by your software.

- is compatible on more machines than +.
