Does anyone have a working spell checker for AB?

The one I thought I'd found wanted a fee after a few corrections.

It's really just another AB irritation, along with the request for a donation on every page, a text box which can't be stretched to see what you have written as a whole, not to mention the trolling & insults (even from mods!) - I'm beginning to wonder about AB, is it worth it?

I type anything more than a couple of lines in a Word document and copy and paste into AB.  Simple.

It's a simple fix no idea why it has not been done.

I've found a solution for Firefox. Create a bookmark and then change its url to this: javascript:void(document.activeElement.contentDocument.querySelector('*[spellcheck]').setAttribute('spellcheck','true'));

Click in the answer box and then select the bookmark. Firefox spellcheck should now work.

The only way I can copy and paste a link is to copy a link from a paper for example and send it to myself by e-mail where I can then C&P to Answerbank. Going round the houses. I never used to have to do that. What is going wrong here? I am beginning to give up

 If I highlight my written text & press F7 ( which does a spellcheck in Word, for eg.) I get a message;

Turn on Caret Browsing

You can navigate with a  text cursor, press F7 to turn off

with the option to 'Turn On '  

From which nothing happens

What on earth does that mean I wonder. 🤪

It doesn't work in Safari either. Khandro, in about half an hour, I'll run up Chrome and try to explain how to do it.

For Chrome:
1. Create a bookmark by clicking the star in the top right. Before you click Done, Change the name to Spellcheck and the Folder to Bookmarks bar.

2. If your Bookmarks bar is already showing, you should see Spellcheck. If not, type Ctrl-Shift-B.

3. copy this: javascript:void(document.activeElement.contentDocument.querySelector('*[spellcheck]').setAttribute('spellcheck','true'));

4. Edit the Bookmark. Click on show side panel top right. Click on the icon at the left of Bookmarks bar. Click on the three vertical dots to the right of Spellcheck. Select Edit. Click in the URL field, Ctrl-A to select all and Ctrl-V to replace with what you copied earlier. Click save.

5. Type something wrongly spelt in the answer box and click the Spellcheck bookmark.
