How about a genuine antique chair for just £14 million - and you can't even sit on it!

Back to Ikea it is then!

Well it's all very well and good but I think at the end of the day, it doesn't quite go with the rest of my decor. Besides which, I have enough stuff that has Made in China on it without adding any more.

A very nice deckchair.
It's beautiful. I wonder if it's going back to China?
Maybe someone can set up a business doing copies... :)
Looks damned uncomfortable to me.
Looks more like a torture chamber implement.
Ming 1368-1644 chairs of this age 1580-1600 which have survived are pretty damn rare
and incroyably ( incredz that is) - there is one in the austere Palace of Escorial that Philip II used to perch on,
looking more battered.

grey Palace that philip and others spent a lorra lorra reales ( from New world of course) on, making it look like a 16th cent Lubyianka

This is one of the objects that you can't date stylistically ( like Georgian beer mugs) but you have to date other wise ( beer mugs by hallmwak)
I like it. I can't find any reason in the link as to why the buyer can't sit in it. I assume it's too fragile.
Philip, aka El Rey Papelero, doubtless spent a lot of time sitting on his chair doing his paperwork
Has it been carbon dated ?

Canary, the second paragraph says it’s fragile and should be considered a work of art in terms of usage.

Very good barsel. Bet this one doesn’t have a label though. :o)
I'd better sell mine then - anybody got the sotheby's number....
Thanks for the BA Naomi.

Haha! More wishful thinking, DTC? ;o)
Question Author
A worthy one, barsel. ‘Made in China’ didn't occur to me.
