Our Lidl was closed for two months for refurbishment. They have extended by about 25%.
I don't like it.
They have changed where everything is and I am wandering about like a headless chicken. There is no real sense of order. It bears no relationship to how it was before.
They used to have a rule that all Lidl stores have to be laid out the same,
So this one now matches the Gloucester store.
I'm not a happy bunny!

Tashi I love d shopping at Lidl, their prices are fantastic and all the food is good. When I've had to go to Asda or Tesco sometimes I really object to the prices.
closing a shop for 2 months doesn't seem to make sense. If they closed my local lidl for 2 months, doubt they'd get the same amount of customers back.
Aldi and Morrisons are at other end of town with Iceland in the middle.
They can't do an extension and refit overnight, you'll soon find your way round again.

For forty years my corner shop has been a mid sized Asda, I can't count the number of different layouts they've had, but soon get the hang of it.
In my nearest town, Lidl have just opened a big store just down the road from Aldi, who opened right across from Tesco, which is on the other side of town from Morrisons. Usually shop in Tesco, but go across to Aldi for bits and pieces. Didn't take to the new Lidl - seems cheap, but not in a good way.
There's also a Waitrose on the way there, which I go to when I'm feeling flush - free newspaper at the weekend!
"Waitrose"? Don`t you just love the Waitrose snobbery? I have a good farmer friend and the meat from their farm goes to Waitrose and Tesco. You can pay more for it in Waitrose but I can tell you now, it's the same meat from the same farm.
You pay for the surroundings as well as the goods.
Their staff are usually very polite too!
// Their staff are usually very polite too!//

they know all the old buggaz by name the ones who just come and buy a few things to g et out of the house

and they help me when I walk into things
I don’t look at Waitrose as a snobs shop. I find the quality is better on a lot of items. Our local is at a holiday venue. The folk that go there straight from the ferry most certainly are not your posh brigade.
I'm not bothered where I shop, my money is good anywhere.
Same here Mamya, usually the closest is good enough for me.
You’ll get used to it, Caran. We have to travel 26 miles to visit a supermarket......Aldi and Lidl but as they are my go to stores that’s ideal.
Luckily we don’t have a Waitrose so no Waitrose snobs to smile at...... :-)
So every supermarket in the UK is stuffed to the roof with food, and yet one complains about a move round of products. what a disaster :(
Bit nasty and grumpy there, Teacake....had a bad day?
I really like Aldi for their fruit and veg, not a massive fan of Lidls though,no reason only I prefer Aldi
I believe they were brothers who fell out, anyone else heard this ?
perhaps he's a lidl manager who's just completed a major overhaul of his store?
