FIFA Tried to ban the Poppies? although this Q may be late, what's your opinion?

As it was Football related I didn't take that much notice of it. As I understand it they tried to ban them because they said they were a Political Symbol/Emblem.
As a Former Royal Marine I have never seen the Poppy in that light.
Maybe something to do with some of them being on the side that came second, twice.

Fiddling In Football Always - yes they were wrong, but they're idiots, so heigh-ho.

The wearing of poppies should be a personal choice.
No one should be told to wear one, or not wear one.
The ones with a problem are those who want to make others think and behave in a way that THEY'VE decided is correct.
FIFA are out of touch with reality.

I would have Indicated it with a Capital " V" to FIFA
