Is it my email account or do you still get alerts via your email when someone answers one of your post? is this not done anymore?

If you subscribe to a question you get alerts, and it also shows you a message at the bottom, right-hand side of the screen.

You have got to click ... 'Subscribe to question' ... then it will work.
