Texts

Can still receive texts but can't send them. 'Unidentified Subscriber' comes up on screen when trying to send.
Would be most grateful for any ideas. Its some kind of Blackberry if that helps.

Have you tried your SIM card in a spare mobile to see if it works there ?
May be worth wiping the SIM card contacts, see if it does anything.

I'll give it a whirl OG. I'm posting on here using same phone if that makes sense. Plus it worked a couple of days ago when I last sent a text.

Try cleaning the electrical contacts on the sim card.

Grrr, I thought OG had the answer. When I took the sim card out there was, like, a dirty strip of sellotape stuck underneath it.(Probably off battery, which is getting tatty) .
However texts still don't work. Will have another clean & get model type in case.

No, still kaput. Loads of numbers under sim but I dug out receipt.
Blackberry Curve 8520. Does that sound right? If any technical answers, could you couch it in terms an idiot might follow.

Just had a thought. Is it possible the part of transmitter that handles texts & calls is down but internet still on. Couldn't call mate sat 5ft from me earlier. I know it often happens other way around.

Hi methyl? Just tried texting myself. No good. I'm with Vodafone & I know all 3 people I tried to text are with Orange. One of whom has texted me several times today.

Yeah, thanks anyway, methyl. Its too late to be texting now. I'll give it a day or two then go to Vodafone shop. Lucky I'm not a high powered businessman or anything, cheers.:)
