So many flying the flag for Starmer and yet he is the man who worked hard to put the disaster that was Corbyn in the driving seat.  Are you sure you know what you're voting for?

I DID vote for Corbyn to become leader of Labour! I needn't have bothered as he got an overwhelming majority of the votes anyway & most of those people are still in Labour & would welcome him (or someone like him) back as leader.

davebro3 [I]  // would welcome him (or someone like him) back as leader.//

Knowing that he is an out & out AntiSemite & supporter of Hamas ?

Dave, I meant in the general election.

We're sure that we're not voting for self-interest, jobs for the boys and profiteering.

10:10 SNP?

only his constituents could have voted for him at the GE - just sayin'

Scots are not (yet) obliged to vote for the blue-faced roasters, Tora, 'ave a day off.

I certainly would not, he's a person who certainly didn't have the credentials for the job, both educationally and politically - the brain of a mouse.

As to 'Weird Farmer' perhaps he backed the Corpsboot knowing that Jeremy would fail and he would then be in a better position to make an impact as leader. Machivellian perhaps, yes.....

10:16 no but when you mentioned: "We're sure that we're not voting for self-interest, jobs for the boys and profiteering." - I instantly thought of the SNP, did you get a go in the camper?

You're doing that thing again, Tora, where you get an answer to a point but harp on and on, convinced you're wise as well as entertaining.

Neither is true.

We can only hope that your high-flying job demands your attention for a while, those bins won't empty themselves. x

Starmer has shown he will change course every time the wind blows.  First he was a barrister, then a Labour MP, saw Corbyn on the rise and backed him, then when he lost dropped him like a stone.  From that to robot leader, starchy and dull, now with his sleeves rolled up and trying to emulate Blair of all people.  Truly a chameleon- without the backbone.

Dave, I get the impression that this question makes you uncomfortable.   In a general election a successful vote for your chosen candidate means you get his leader as Prime Minister.

i voted labour in 2017 and 19... i would still vote labour if i lived in the same area but i strongly dislike both my current MP and also kier starmer. there are however some labour people that i admire.

Your impression is wrong. Maybe you should phrase your questions better?

Question Author

Ok Dave, when you voted in for your local candidate, were you hoping Corbyn would be the next prime minister?

Can't remember if I voted or not. I was sure Corbyn would be a disaster for Labour so I paid a couple of quid & helped instal him as their leader.

Right ...

I didn't vote for Cornyn as I didnt live in Islington North

Starmer worked to put Corbyn in the driving seat? I don't think so. Admittedly he was in Corbyn's Shadow Cabinet, but thank god he was, is what I say. Even in the general election it was obvious he was no Corbynite. Many moderate Labour people had a tough choice to make back then. Abandon ship and leave the far left to it, or hang in there.

I think many of us would hope to see Wes Streeting as Labour leader. A man who stayed defiantly outside the Corbyn tent during those years. However, by the time he gets his chance Labour might be on the way out again?
