Not content with being main players (pun intended) in bringing the virus back from Europe by failing to curtail European matches early enough, the thick bustards now want to start playing again before restrictions are lifted.

Just after the money of course, nothing to do with sport any more.

We will in a minute, I'm sure.

A top executive says they could be back - that proves footballers are thick?

You have an odd route to a conclusion may I say.
So it's not actual footballers but the CEO of Southampton FC then.
But he did say this though.
would be "a sign that the country is coming back to normal" but it should not happen before it is safe.

"We have to do what is right and safe for the general public," he told BBC Radio Solent.
More than likely Uefa not acting quickly enough to stop European games being played and not just behind closed doors (No fans empty stadia), players are under contract to their club and do have to adhere to the rules their employer and contract dictates.
what planet is this 'person' from?
Delusions of grandeur methinks.

"We have to do what is right and safe for the general public," he told BBC Radio Solent.

"When everybody is safe and we're not using up NHS and police resources, the government would like us to get back to playing because we are entertainment and a sign that the country is coming back to normal."

He is saying it's what the Government wants and only when it's safe to do so.
Not the response you were after, is it, Canary?
Meanwhile Belarus plays on ...
Someone is proving they're thick alright.
Under the new regime a thread that ought be closed if ever there was.
But if it's left we can decide who really is thick I suppose. :-)
Talking of thick footballers....Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs.
Gary Neville is not thick, why would you say that when you clearly have no idea?
Football is utterly pointless. No need for it to potentially harm the worlds health. So much travel in it.
Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs have offered their hotel rooms free of charge to all NHS workers and have guaranteed employment and/or the wages of their staff.....
well it's the CEO of Soton, not all "footballers" and he says: //Martin Semmens says the return of the top flight - currently suspended until at least 30 April - would be "a sign that the country is coming back to normal" but it should not happen before it is safe.
"We have to do what is right and safe for the general public," he told BBC Radio Solent.// - sounds right to me, not sure what's got into your beak canary.

I saw somewhere that Evangelos Marinakis who owns Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest had tested positive for CV a couple of weeks ago and that the Arsenal manager Mikkel Arteta caught it from him.

So maybe you should be saying “More proof rich people are thick”, or maybe not using generalisations at all.
Sorry,my previous was badly worded.I was trying to make the point that not all players or ex players were the same and what they have done is a great gesture.
