Her indoors have been on at me all day to go and tidy up the front garden

She left the house a while now on her mission to clock up a few more miles on her fit bit

Even a star ship captain is wary of incurring her wrath if she returns and her instructions have not been attended to

Do you feel sorry for me ?

Not at all. She shouldn't have had to tell you to do it. You should have done it off your own back.
No, no sympathy at all, Bazile.
Are you a man or a mouse? Get a sun longer and a can of beer, and relax in the front garden.
... sun lounger ...
Take Hoppy's advice, Baz.....I'm sure he'll stand guard at the gate to fend off your wife on her return..... ;-)

Well she's back
I wasn't in the garden yet

I suppose I was let off because I asked her shall I wear my current clothes into the garden ( indicating that I was shortly going into garden )

I'm smart that way , you know
Make It So
Ask her if she'd like a nice cup of Earl Grey- hot :) x
The garden will still be there tomorrow Bazile, bet you wish you'd tidied it now!
Offer her an afternoon cuddle instead.... She might prefer to do the garden herself
I did the same as your good lady and asked mr mally to tidy garden and weed a section, when I got home he had pulled everything out of said garden laid it on the path and said sort the plants out and I will put them back .never asked him again x
I suspect that was the plan, mally ;-)
My wife understands that I loathe gardening beyond running the mower around but is happy to use me to do anything else around the house, print up things for her church work, or any general repairs and car care.
Mally of a similar ilk, my neighbours used to have a "gardener", his idea of weeding was to make sure he sprinkled any weed seeds back onto the bed to ensure that he had a constant supply of new weeds that needed removing in a few weeks time. After seeing him do it twice, I just had to let my neighbour know what I had witnessed. Needless to say hes no longer doing their garden or them anymore.

Putting someone out of gainful employment - I don't know
Bazile I think hes got lots more suckers (pun intended)
I’m trying to imagine what my husband would say if I told him to tidy our front garden.
He laughs at me when I water my tomato plants, saying Tesco has got plenty.
I paid two of the kids to do the two main jobs that I was putting off - I quite like cutting the grass but I need help to move the trampoline.
I don’t our trampoline was ever moved when the grass needed cutting. We just went round the legs.
