Call me sexist, but the female commentator on the England v Aus rugby union match on BBC2 now is dire. Anyone else fed up with PC BBC moves like this?

VE, I'm sure there are many ]i]ladies[i] that can beat me into submission ;-/

Bring it on!!!!!
Women in Sport are useless. Whatever they take on. The BBC give them air time because they're women, no other reason. And then try to convince us that womens' sport is worth watching. Or, that women commentators are any good. They aint.
10 clarion
women get airtime now because lots of women and men watch them. The sexist views expressed on this thread strikes me as the reason women were excluded from playing sport in the first place. Not good thinking on your part.
Not good thinking on the BBC's part. Women in sport are useless. It's a fact. There's no other way to put it.
Ferkin 'ell!

Really 10C?

You need to watch an indigenous "ladies" rugby league game.
"Be afraid, very afraid", if you're the ref;-/
That's rather sexist 10. They do a good job, equal to the men, as long as they know their subject, and they do!
Maybe ozzy, but they're still useless. Why would anyone want to watch women trying to play a male sport? Why? As someone said earlier, it's just the PC BBC being patronizing to women. It don't work.
so all our heroines are useless, Jessica Ennis Hill, Christina Ohoragou, are not useless but Olympic champions.
Nah. You won't convince me about women in sport. It's all patronizing garbage.
i could name more but what would be the point.
It's not the same. They wouldn't stand a chance against the men. That's where the patronizing comes in. "Ooo they're good in the womens' events aren't they?" For all their efforts, Olympic champions etc., there's nothing about women in sport that appeals to me.
Women's rugby is well worth watching. Also foot ball, they usually play a better game than the men!
In swimming, diving, rowing, running, athletics, gymnastics and many others.
well you don't have to watch, the men's rugby was on yesterday all day, with three matches being shown, that should suit you down to the ground.
The RAF have female pilots, including in the Red Arrows.
yes indeed they do, no one said they were useless.
doctors, lawyers, sportswomen, nurses, the list is endless where women are concerned, so your post is a tad sexist
More than a tad methinks!
I didn't watch any rugby yesterday.
Now, picture this. It actually happened. England Ladies football team were playing a qualifier. They needed one point to qualify for the World Cup. They're 1-0 down, one minute to go. They win a free kick just inside the opposition half, a couple of yards from the touchline. The commentator said this is a chance to put a cross into the penalty area and see if they can get the equalizer. Everyone's in the penalty area, waiting with baited breath. The jostling; the shoving; the pulling, the shouting. The kicker looking, arm waving, searching for the target. This is probably the last chance for England. The kicker runs up, has an almighty sweep at the stationary ball. It's on it's way - it bounces once; it bounces twice; it bounces for a third time before it reaches the penalty area. Wonderful! Don't you just love womens' football? Nope.
Anyway, I'm off for my breakfast now. Mrs Clarion is really good in the kitchen and I told her to have it ready for 8.15, which she has managed to do, because
My wife's not feeling very well
Her legs are not too steady
I have to carry he down the stairs
To get my breakfast ready.
Don't you just love 'em? :o) :o) ;o)
i was being polite..^^
You only need to mention Southgate and penalty in response to that, 10C.
I'm old enough to remember Anne Packer (outsider) winning the 800m at Tokyo. Recent women are (obviously) Jessica, (gorgeous) Denise Lewis before her in the same discipline, and Amy Williams doing the head-banging thing in Canada (skeleton bob or something?)

But VE's favourite female British athlete is Kelly (sorry, Dame Kelly) Holmes. Srunning double at the Athens(?) Olympics.
