Would not think it a good idea to reveal the score since some people may have recorded the match and want to watch it later - without knowing the result first!
No.
Agree with you Jordyboy, and why the team kept trying to play it to him beggers belief. Don't get me started on the first half when Sterling was still on.
Cant see what southgate sees in sterling!
That Loftus- Cheek is a good player!
Should Southgate be manager for long .Nice enough man and did his best but has not got the team many people think .If and I’m not him I would resign as a World Cup final place was handed to them and what happens they finish well maybe some don’t want to know the score at worst 4 out of final 4 .

Didn't watch it....no point.
Who cares about who came third and fourth, only winners are remembered?

Don't get me started on Sterling.........
Interesting article and a bit of history here too Jordy, even with the changes if any following Brexit I doubt Football will revert to being insular again.

Having said that out of all the registered FIFA teams in the world, where we finished was an achievement with those young lads.
Ark.....agreed ...it was.
of course they're not going to try - the match was a total irrelevance. why put yourself in the way of a needless injury just before the domestic season?
As a Striker, there is an argument that Sterling under-performed. However, his runs at tentative and uncertain defenders resulted in numerous free-kicks, throws-in and corners; all of which helped our well-worked out set-pieces. He tied up defenders so that our other players could get into better positions.
Kane seemed to want to walk the ball into the net and not inclined to take a shot unless he was in the area.
Too often the ball way passed sideways instead of being hoofed goalwards and given that no winning team, these days, plays the 'long ball over the top anymore, I don't understand why our national team insists on doing so.

Sterling's days as an England striker may be over as he is very unpopular with supporters and he failed to look like scoring, but there is no doubt he has had a great season at club level scoring over 20 goals, winning a league title and cup medal- but playing for England he doesn't have the excellent service he gets from DeBruyne at club level.
The backlash has already started I see. England have very little nous up front against top teams such as Belgium. Kane is obviously carrying an injury. England did at least as well as expected but at no point did they go into a game against a higher ranked team and upset them. And this happens time and time again. But one can but hope for the optimism to last. England reached the semis in 1990 but veiled even to make the finals in 1994. Ok that’s not going to happen again now they let half the countries in the world in. But the fear is that this is as good as it gets ...
My boys rate Sterling and they are football obsessed.
Yes.....Sterliong does run at defenders, he does tie them up, but I'm afraid at international level you need more than that. There is no end result with Sterling...he can't cross the ball and he certainly can't score. This was the case when he was at Liverpool, but did improve at Man City. He had a poor tournament and needs either improvement or replacing.
Sterling does need to improve his final ball and shooting, but I would stick with him. Any opposition would be happy to see Sterling wasn't in the team. Rashford was far less effective.

No shame losing to Belgium who might have missed the best chance they will ever get to win it.

Yes, Kane perhaps should have come off, but I guess with the Golden Boot at stake it was understandable.
