Have to have an op shortly - no worries but one of the many, many run ups to it was yet another MRI scan - this time a closed one -am seriously, seriously claustrophobic (saw my arm off without anaesthethic but don't put me in a tube!!!) - got myself together and at the very advanced age of a million and one did it. Please, someone say well done.

Did you use any method of keeping the panic at bay or were the people doing it expert in keeping patients calm? Overcoming a phobia is tough so good for you.
ouch Carmalee, im slightly claustrophobic so can only imagine how terrified you were, and yes, you were very brave, well done.

Good luck with the op when it happens too :-)
well done carmalee, I'm a total wuss about anything medical, you were very brave.

Love the ABers I've had previous contact with who have responded - so supportive thank you so much - am feeling very, very good now -
Hi Sea dog - yes, I knew I had to do this, no one else could do it for me - those involved in an earthquakes or similar catastrophes have no option but to be trapped so my little 45 minutes time in a tube was nothing (I could alway escape from if neccessary anyway - they couldn't)) mind over matter. It wasn't good cos I seriously don't like being confined but getting it in proportion helped.
Well done to you, I had one and managed ok. Good luck with your op.

May I ask where and what about the op?

I'm glad you've said no worries about that, but we would like to send you virtual flowers and cards (some of us are soppy like that)
