Here we are again, the best NH meeting in the World bar non. Awful weather will not spoil the spectacle, a tough lot these NH lads and lassies. I have done the Placepot and Jackpot and put the first 4 runners in a little bet of their own. Will see how it pans out and whether I need to do a cover later. Have had a single bet in the 2.10 to qualify for the free bet in the 3.30.

Al Dancer @9/2 1.30
Hardline @5/1 2.10
Mister Whitaker @8/1 2.50
Laurina @10/3 3.30
Lady Buttons 4.10
Tower Bridge 4.50

£1.00 Win Acca. 4 X 40p Trebles. 6 X 40p Doubles.

Stuck to laying. Laid Janika 7/4 in-running (heart in mouth)
Another £10.50 to add to the plus column thanks to Didero Vallis's 5th place :-).
Just got out of jail.
Laid Jurys out on betfair and backed the winner Big Difference on Bet365....phew.

Saved a bit of face today with a nice little double, including the single win, and a very welcome day in the black.(just) I have placed a double on the last two races on Epantante and the aptly named It's All Guesswork.
Togo, I'm going to lay Epantante if it shortens enough in running
Nice to see the two girls win and also the smaller stables win a couple of races.Best of all was the winner for Alan Gemmell he couldn’t see it unfortunately but he really enjoyed the moment.

Your dosh was never in doubt with that fav Talbot. Yes Grumpy, so it was. Byrony Frost was tremendous.
A much, much better 3rd day. A winner, a rev forecast and 2 placed give me a total return of £126.20 = £81 profit on the day :-)

Running total after 3 days; £61.50 profit :-)
Looks like we all found winners yesterday :)
Been a good week, plenty of Guinness and some great racing!
Final day and I’m going with these lot, wins, e/w accas and placepot
1.30 Pic D’ohry, Quel Destin e/w
2.10 Eclair De Beaufeu, Thistle Do Nicely e/w
2.50 Dinons
3.30 Bellshill, Kemboy
4.10 Caid Du Berlais
4.50 Brelan D’as, All Set To Go e/w
5.30 Defi Bleu, Discordantly e/w

Good luck all
Half past 4!! Wow, you're well and truly on the ball, this morning, Panky. Good luck with your selections. Cheltenham in March is such a great festival that, even when you don't find a winner, it truly is a joy to behold. The winners are the icing on the cake and it's good that the regular contributors to this thread all found winners eventually and that Talbot has joined the crew and he too was rewarded for his efforts. Let's hope that we can all do even slightly better on this final day of the festival. Good luck, all.

Morning folks. Last day already. Yesterdays win by Frodon will never be forgotten. My brother who was in attendance says the place went mental over the last 2 jumps and on the run in. Even people who had not had a punt on it were cheering it home. Back to reality then. The first looks nailed on...……..doesn't it? We will see. Gone for E/W value today but again ignoring the Placepot and doing a little E/W Acca on the first 6 races. Will also have a pop at the ITV7. E/W single bet in the first race and free bet in the Gold cup, which in fairness looks wide open. Gotta nip out handy and run my errands and get a haircut. Get back for the off hopefully. May even have time for a pint in the Cottage Loaf in town. :))

Quel Destin @9/1 1.30
Magic Dancer @33/1 2.10
Dickie Diver @17/2 2.50
Kemboy @9/1 3.30
Caid Du Berlais @7/1 4.10
Bun Doran @12/1 4.50

50p E/W Acca. £1.00 E/W Acca first four. Plus 20p E/W Doubles and Trebles. Can again cover if I feel I must.

Sorted for the ITV7. My Cheltenham picks and Nobel Leader 1.55Fake & Dashing Poet 2.20Ling. Just noticed that Panky and I have got the same horse in 3 races.
As you say, Togo, first race looks nailed on but sticking a £20 win on an odds on jolly isn't my thing. And, if i were to stick a tenner e.w. on my selection, i would only be guaranteed the win part of the bet refunded should it lose. So, as it's a completely no risk bet;

1.30; £20 win Gardens Of Babylon @ 9/1
1.30; £1 e.w. Authorizo @ 66/1
2.10; £2 e.w. Eclair De Beaufeu @ 11/1
2.50; £2 win Lisnagar Oscar @ 7/1
3.30; £5 FB win Presenting Percy @ 4/1
3.30; £1.50 e.w. Elegant Escape @ 16/1
4.10; £5 win Stand Up And Fight @ 11/2
4.50; £1.50 e.w. Whatswrongwithyou @ 11/1
5.30; £2.35 e.w. Pym @ 16/1

2.10; Eclair De Beaufeu @ 12/1
2.50; Lisnagar Oscar @ 15/2
4.10; Stand Up And Fight @ 11/2
4.50; Whatswrongwithyou @ 11/1

20p Lucky 15, £1 e.w. acca. 4 placed = £93, 4 winners = £10,291

Placepot; 12-16-13-13-20-8

ITV 7; Placepot selections plus Cap Du Nord and Dashing Poet

Total stake = £49.70

Once again, guys, the best of luck.

Non runner in the 2.10 Magic Dancer, substituted with Monsieur Lecoq.

Last roll of the dice for another year. Pym in the last & an E/W Double with Bun Doran. Place will do now, win would be nicer.
Ah well, £20 return from the first race loser leaves me with a loss of £29.70 on the day which, in turn, means that my efforts for the 4 days have yielded just £31.80 profit. Still, it could have been much, much worse - but for yesterday's successes, i could have been over £150 down. Roll on next year - though we do have Aintree coming up shortly :-) :-) :-)
A real shame about the loss of the fav in the first. It was obvious it had broken a leg and i'm glad the cameras no longer dwell on stricken horses as they used to do in the past.
All in all an excellent festival with some stand-out performances from both horses and riders, particularly those riders who sit down to wee. There will come a time when it is commonplace to see a lady-rider in the Cheltenham winners enclosure.
My OH, had a couple of winners at Cheltenham today. Both something Hill. My grandmother used to like a little flutter, always did anything with 'hill' in the name. So I reminded OH of this, so he chose thise 2 names! Made a little profit..

That would be Pentland Hills and Hazel Hill Patsy. As good as system as any......I tend to do Poets. Haha.
Well done keeping ahead Ken I have taken a hosing......Ahh well said the soul. Ahh soul said the well. Still got my teeth.
That's the ones Togo! Apart from hills, she also favoured all the reds and Sam's, after her cat. She was very lucky too. Good luck with the Poets!
Question Author
Haha Patsy a horse named Sammy Redhill would have had her pension on it. :))
