Here we are again, the best NH meeting in the World bar non. Awful weather will not spoil the spectacle, a tough lot these NH lads and lassies. I have done the Placepot and Jackpot and put the first 4 runners in a little bet of their own. Will see how it pans out and whether I need to do a cover later. Have had a single bet in the 2.10 to qualify for the free bet in the 3.30.

Al Dancer @9/2 1.30
Hardline @5/1 2.10
Mister Whitaker @8/1 2.50
Laurina @10/3 3.30
Lady Buttons 4.10
Tower Bridge 4.50

£1.00 Win Acca. 4 X 40p Trebles. 6 X 40p Doubles.

Morning guys.....Haha Ken. I could probably pick mine with a pin and my eyes closed and do better. Will have a look holding a cuppa and get back. Waited for the all clear before having a look.

I see that the Placepot paid £91k yesterday and that one lucky punter had it with a £2 stake scooping £182k. Nice. The Jackpot is carried over.
Morning, Togo. Hit the crossbar again with my either half bet last night though i did manage to get the Plymouth 2-1 result correct @ 9/1, which made yesterday's minus column look a good deal better. Just about to start the usual number crunching - and i may be some time :-)
Yeah, brilliant placepot. I'd have been happy enough with the .5. Did win £2,006 on a placepot a million years ago but my dear departed mam blew that one out of the water the year before she died with £5,750 placepot at Cheltenham day 2 in 2011. Today's the day i regain my crown. :-)
Yes I heard that too Ken, I don’t know why they couldn’t do what they did last time and slot them into Thursday and Friday, perhaps testing the water for a fifth day to the festival?

One of my brothers picked up abut 45k in a Cheltenham Placepot some years back paid cash for a loft extension and a lump off his mortgage. He then followed up with about 11k at Aintree the following month. I have gone a bit off piste today perhaps the windy weather will unsettle a few of the favourites. :)) Again done Place&Jackpots with a bet on the first four and a chance to reset if it goes the usual shape.

Champ @3/1 1.30
On The Blind Side @12/1 2.10
Brio Conte @17/2 2.50
Hells Kitchen @33/1 3.30
Vyta Du Roc 4.10(currently @40/1)
Praeceps 4.50(currently @22/1)

£1.00 E/W Acca. 4 X 15pE/W Trebles. 6 X 15p E/W Doubles.

Just had a text from that^^ brother. He is in Worcester on his way to Cheltenham till Friday. Jammy beggar.
The question about a permanent Saturday slot was put to the guy and emphatically denied, Panky. So look forward to a 5 day festival from next year onward :-/
I've been to the Festival just the once, Togo, and, to be totally honest, i didn't really enjoy the experience. If you want to have a bet on every race, you can forget about nipping to the bar for a pint in between - impossible to get served unless you're a gorgeous chick or 6'4" and above. I'm neither - gorgeous, yes, but only about 5'7" - so i was overlooked. And my visit was back in the days before the giant screens were erected and all i saw was riders' heads bobbing up and down as they passed. Same with the National.Best place to watch both is in your living room in front of the tv. Don't waste too much time envying your brother. Unless, of course, you have another day like yesterday and he has to buy an extra set of luggage to carry his winnings home in :-)
Have any of you entered the ITV 7? It's free, and I think the jackpot is now £200,000....

So, the numbers have been crunched - and did they take some chewing, especially in the 4.50 where 6 of the last 10 winners were 25/1 and above - and i've come up with bets that i do hope are better than yesterday's. They certainly couldn't be worse, that's a fact.

1.30; £10 win Brewin'upastorm @ 7/1 = £80 or stake back - Sky
1.30; £5 win Battleoverdoyen @ 9/2 = winnings doubled - Coral

3.30; Free* £2.50 e.w. God's Own @ 33/1 = £18 or £103 - 365

Total stake; £36 Total returns; watch this space :-))
I always enter it, gg. As you say, it's free so it would be daft not to. Though i do think they should give you a prize if you can pick 7 that do not even get placed :-) :-)
Question Author
Must confess that despite having a Sky account I usually do not bother...…...however after GG(might be an omen) asking the question I thought.. Why not? I have therefor used my Cheltenham picks and used Tavener at Lingfield and Schap at Huntington to make up the 7. Just watch me have 2 winners today, the Lingfield and Huntington runners with nothing on them in the way of a bet. :((
Brewin'up, Santini, S O Zebedee, C Smart, Schap, Altior & Tiger Roll.

As if :-)
Got 5/2 on Topofthegame just before the last fence...great result.

I have bet of Blue Sari to qualify for the free bet.
Question Author
Are you using the "live" facility on 365 to bet during running Talbot?
Question Author
Had a bit of E/W on Brio Conte and the same on Hell's Kitchen in the next for my free bet.
Yeah, I do more in-play betting than anything.

Nearly came on here this morning to 'tip' William Henry. Oh well.
Question Author
Feel Free Spice. Although we don't actually offer tips as such, we just have a natter and confess to what we are mistakenly putting our hard earned on. In my case particularly of late.
Well done if you backed it, Spicerack. However, even if you had 'tipped' it on here, i don't follow anyone's tips and wouldn't have backed it, despite it being trained by my fav jumps trainer. As you can see from my selections, i thought the stable's Apples Shakira was the better of the 2, though i was expecting a bit more pace to the race :-( Again, well done, nice to see someone taking money from the bookies, even when it's not me.
