Saturday. Heavy frost this morning. Can't see any stars.

I might go down to the canal today, I'm not on duty, but It's lovely it there. Lots of nice people. There again I might do a few jobs that won't go away no matter who much I ignore them. Such is life.

Have a happy day everyone.

The jobs will wait patiently Boaty, do 'em when you feel like it.

A visit to the canal sounds much better if the weather's good. During winter here the frosty nights usually bring a nice day.

How's you?

I'm fine thanks old mate. I reckon you're right. I don't know who's on duty until I look at the roster. Not that it makes a lot of odds.

How's you mate?
Question Author
That's the kind of job I enjoy. :o}
Pootling along quite nicely thanks.

Gunna do a Thai Green Curry tonight, using beef strips instead of the usual chicken, stir fry Asian vege and Jasmine rice.

Quick easy meal, all in a wok bar the rice, that'll be micro zapped.

That sounds nice. I'm going to have a mississippi pork steak again. with the jacket spud. I'll use a different cheese this time, just for a bit of variety.
What sort of cheese?

I reckon a creamy double Brie goes nicely with spud, bit of chives and cracked pepper.
Question Author
I have some Stilton. I'll make some creamed mushrooms to go on top. With the garlic and herb coating on the steak it's as good combination of flavours.
Question Author
I just might add some chives to the mushrooms.
I quite often saute mushrooms with chopped bacon and onion in a little Worcestershire and add some baby spinach leaves at the end with a tiny dollop of cream.

Suits me.
Question Author
Sounds good. I chop them finely and sauté them with some mushroom ketchup until they have softened and most of the liquid has evaporated, then add some thick cream and a wee bit of fresh ground black pepper. Warm it all up a wee bit and make it disappear. :o}
Might give that a go one day.

I've always only quartered the mushrooms coz I like the chunky texture.
Or if they are small and very fresh cook 'em whole.
Question Author
They sauté better if they are finely chopped. I use chestnut mushrooms, much more flavour.
Question Author
Getting misty again now.
I'll keep an eye open for them, not a lot of variety where I live.

Been thinking about growing my own, easy to do, just never got past the thinking stage.

Should pull my finger out ;-/
You or the weather?
;-)
Question Author
I used to grow my own when we were at the last place Vera was a warden. There was enough room to grow enough that I never needed to buy any. There's not enough room here to make it worth while.
Question Author
Good question! :o}
Hope it's the weather old mate.

Might do a tad more research on mushy growing, plenty of shed room here.
And since the kids left home lot's of spare bedrooms, but, Mrs Oz may not agree with me on that one ;-/
