There appears no way that the universe arose from nothing, but came from a preexisting mind, that is God.

It seems the atheist scientists have hit a brick wall!
Can you rescue them?

I will come to that.
The important thing to grasp for now is that an immaterial creator supremely powerful, is the mind that created the universe.
More about Him later, but for now, you need to grasp that fact.
He exists. He is the mind that is the origin of the necessary information that the universe needed.
I don't need to "grasp" any of that, theland, without any proof.
I don't agree there must be an immaterial creator, that only a mind can create information (actually, a mind never does. It only interprets it). //He exists//- again, opinion and not proof.
You have jumped loads of steps from my question, and gone off on a wild, irrational list of assumptions.
Maybe start with how any mind can "create" information- that it hasn't already been given, in one form or another?
Even your answers seem to create far far more questions than they ever answer.
Question Author
You say a mind never creates information?
That's breathtaking!
You computer runs on programmes created by a human mind.
Every book or written word you've ever read was created by a human mind.
No, theland. Every computer program ever written, every book, film, art.... always comes from information already known. People interpret that in different ways... so one person may be able to use their knowledge to put a program together, while another couldn't. But that is "organised" by their mind. Not created from it.
Ask someone who has been blind from birth, to draw you a cat. They can't magic up information, that they don't already know.
Question Author
A fair point, but I reject it.
Most of the science community would too.
They don't. And that isn't really an answer... on what basis would it be rejected?
//Every book or written word you've ever read was created by a human mind.//

Confession is good for the soul.
Evidence?
I cant imagine all those responsible for invention would agree with pixie - and neither do I. I think she grossly underestimates tbe capability of the mind.
Oh dear, I see pix has laid out another unscientific crank theory on her market stall of strange theories.
Still waiting for that evidence ...
// I don't need to "grasp" any of that, theland, without any proof//

erm I think that is the basis of faith innit?
credo quia incredibilis (*) Tertullian - I believe because it is increds (380 AD )

(*) my my as naomi wd say- he's goog at googling !

there is no religious thread I do not seek to tart up by a little Latin or Greek - or a lot - - or much too much
// Still waiting for that evidence ...//

that is like saying that one awaits for evidence that Andee is a rational human being. How many times do I have to say - faith is not evidence based or else - - - it isnt faith - it is proof based conclusion

do I have evidence for that statement ? my own eyes and ears I suppose

answer ?
// They can't magic up information, that they don't already know.//
oh yeah I see !
Einstein er couldnt dream up the theory of relativity because - - he didnt already know it before

(PP slowly scratches head and says thinks thats not right) and says righto! ( coz it is AB see)
PP, you've totally misunderstood my point. As have a few others.

//Einstein er couldnt dream up the theory of relativity because - - he didnt already know it before//

That isn't at all what I said. He used pre-existing information to discover it. He didn't "create" the information from his mind- he used it.
You are mixing up creating information or creating "from" information which is already there.
In fact, theland has already agreed himself //AuthorAtheist - yes mankind has discovered laws of nature, but didn't create them.
Isaac Newton discovered the law of gravity, Einstein relativity etc, laws that are consistent and describe what's happening in nature.//
Before disagreeing with himself again.
No disagreement from me. Without a universe to observe and a rational mind and senses to observe its properties there would be no theory of gravity, electromagnetism or relativity.
Peter - // // Still waiting for that evidence ...//

that is like saying that one awaits for evidence that Andee is a rational human being. How many times do I have to say - faith is not evidence based or else - - - it isnt faith - it is proof based conclusion

do I have evidence for that statement ? my own eyes and ears I suppose

answer ? //

As usual, you are responding to something you think I am saying, without having read the thread properly.

I think you do it onb purpose to be irritating, but be that as it may -

I know the difference between faith and evidence thank you, I don't need to have it explained to me.

And if you read the thread properly, as you clearly don't, or any other thread where faith and evidence are discussed, you will see that I don;t believe there is any evidence, and I have asked innumerable times for it to be provided.

On this occasion, I have not asked it evidence is availabe, Theland has stated that it is.

I refer you to my exchange with him yesterday evening - his post my post at 20.56, his response at 21.03 and then my response to that at 21.10.

Then you will see why I keep asking for evidence - not because I believe that there is any, but because a Christian has told me that it forms the basis of his beliefs, so I think it reasonable to ask to see it.

While I wait for evidence, which I entirely expect not to appear, maybe I can request again that if you are going to write posts about me, please have the courtesy to read what I have said, and comment on that, and not make up some nonsense that makes sense only to you, and then reference it in order to have a pointless personal dig.

Thank you.
Question Author
Evidence is so important to me and is the basis of my faith in Jesus Christ.
I've never been one to simply say, ''I don't know,'' and leave it at that, but rather I say, ''I must know,'' and pursue the answers.
If God exists, and I believe He does, then He will either provide answers to me, or help me find the answers.
The answers have come. They are overwhelming but so cleverly put together as to be completely hidden from a casual peruser but require an element of commitment and vocation to be properly appreciated.
