There appears no way that the universe arose from nothing, but came from a preexisting mind, that is God.

It seems the atheist scientists have hit a brick wall!
Can you rescue them?

Theland - // Nailit, why don't we talk things through simple step by simple step Q&A? Yes? //

What a fantastic idea!

Nailit clearly has the 'Q' part down pat, as his frequent posts demonstrate.

Sadly, you are are seriously lacking in the 'A' part - as your frequent posts equally demonstrate.

Well one question at a time would be a start.
Theland - // Well one question at a time would be a start. //

Why do you have such difficulty in accepting the concept that no-one living knows the origin of the universe, but only Christians insist that it must be God's work?
Question Author
Evidence!
Theland - // Evidence! //

Fantastic!

Is this something you can share with the rest of us?
It would be helpful if the evidence weren't a video giving the name of a book about unspecified evidence derived from another oers
Posted too early...

It would be helpful if the evidence weren't a video giving the name of a book about unspecified evidence derived from another person's unspecified evidence...
I know nothing about the greatest work of fiction ever, the Bible, so I absolutely cannot speak with any authority whatsoever, but as a causal observer it seems to me that Nailit knows it, understands it, and is able to debunk it, far far more greater than Theland pretends to know it.
Question Author
If this were a competition you could award the prize to Nailit then couldn't you?
Not a competition, not a trial, just a discussion.

Don't forget that evidence will you, I'm sure you keep it close to hand, given its importance...

15:31, not caught up with the thread. Theland, I do only raise one point at a time. That you can't or won't answer it, isn't my fault.

Atheist //Theland, patterns and apparent order and design can come about quite naturally//. I think, not just "can" but have to. Like bubbles are round, because it's the most efficient shape for them. Not because they have been designed to be.
To go back to your painter "analogy" (which really isn't). Even if I agreed a painter had done it, if you told me he was eternal and had come out of nowhere... I would just laugh.
Question Author
Pixie - one point, thank you. Yes bubbles are round because that are following laws of pressure and surface tension of the liquid. Not chance or chaos.
Question Author
Pixie - yes the point I was making was that by using logic and reason, you would know that a painter had done it, that the room didn't paint itself. That's all. I wasn't suggesting an eternal painter.
You are suggesting an eternal god though... which i thought was what the "painter" analogy was for?
Question Author
Not this time. The painted room suggested that the room didn't paint itself, but that a painter did it.
Right. Did that have any relevance to God at all?
AH, it’s not only Christians who insist it’s God’s work.
Question Author
The only lesson from the painter story is that the room didn't paint itself. You know instinctively that somebody did it, a painter. That's all

Now when it comes to the universe, we know it had a beginning, the big bang, even atheist scientists agree on that.
But what about the cause?
It didn't create itself.
But because the universe is space/time and matter/energy, whoever or whatever was the cause, must have been outside of and beyond time, immaterial, that is, spirit, and supremely powerful and mighty to have created like this.
Ok, theland, one point at a time :-)

//But what about the cause?
It didn't create itself.//

What a massive assumption. It's as likely to have created itself, as a supernatural mind to have done it. Ignoring your personal experience and views, where is the evidence for that?
