What Was It?

Last night I was looking at the sky with my 10 x 30 binocs, looking west. A fast moving object appeared in the field of vision which I managed to follow all the way accross the sky. It was travelling so fast, that it had crossed from one side of the sky to the other in 3 seconds (three). My initial thought was that it was a meteor, but I wasn't convinced as all of the ones I've seen are usually streaked and breaking up in the atmosphere. This was a point of light, like a star, but moving incredibly quickly. I haven't seen anything move that quick before in the night sky. What was it? We'll never know!

The Space Station is much slower.

You can rule the space station out as there are no sighting of it in the south of England between the 8th April and the 24th.

Sorry for the late reply but thanks for your answers folks. A couple of things. Firstly, I don't do FB or any other social media, so unfortunately, that's a non-runner. Secondly, I don't think it was a satellite as it was moving too fast. I have seen the space station numerous times, and the object I saw was moving extremely quickly. So quick, I could hardly believe it. In relation to Venus, it was a lot higher in the sky and slightly more to the south when I spotted it. I came to the same conclusion as Harpurhey Pete, that it must have been a meteor. Having said that, as I said in my OP, all the meteors I've ever seen have been streaked and breaking up.
