Was at the hospital today for an assessment for home oxygen.
Various tests and arterial bloods. Got to go back in five weeks, if no improvement then an oxygen machine at home, for fifteen hours day for life.
Not a very happy outcome.
Th good news is that my shingles continue to decrease and definitely getting better.

Glad the shingles are on the run.

Re the oxygen therapy, not a thing to look forward to but the alternative is worse.

I wish you well with it all Theland.
Does that mean you're replacing cannulas and oxygen cylinders with oxygen concentrator, Theland? That's what happened with my wife as the COPD beme more troublesome. It wasn't worse for her than the cylinders and in some ways easier.

But good luck, bonne chance, bon courage.

(Meanwhile, it's raining here in West London, and one of my cats has just come in soaking wet, demanding Dreamies and threatening to knock the drink out of my hand. And you think you've got problems, Theland.)
...became more
And now a second soggy moggy has landed on my lap.

Vetuste - The nurse showed me the machine and turned it on for a few seconds.
What a noise! Fifteen hours of that per day?

And of our four cats, the young Siamese can clench her paw to grip the cupboard door where all the food is kept.
She drags out the treats and chews a hole in them to get her reward. Our old Ragdoll just looks on in disbelief.

You're welcome. :o}
Absolutely not the best situation BUT look at life’s positives. You’re still here, you still have a witty mind, you have us lot to drive you mad lol. No seriously having a group of people online to chat to can be such a pick up. We are always here at one time or another. This group has been a lifesaver for me many a time.

Absolutely right. I love the folk on here, and GMEB is a good start to the day.
I was told the machine could go in the bedroom and trail tubing down to the living room. Small mercies.
That sounds right TL. (I was a medic in a former life) You'll get a lot of benefit from it.

A couple of hundred yards of plastic tubing and I could go back to the pub!
And the shingles is improving!
At least you’re still alive.
Question Author
Yes a lot to be thankful for.
Home oxygen I believe is most effective theland, ie better quality of life .
15 h a day - you can show that you live longer
first shown in the eighties
You can get portable concentrators now, not on the NHS but then you could go to the pub No bigger than a medium handbag or backpack. I looked into them when I thought Dave might need one. As for the noise after a couple of hours your brain will start to filter it out as irrelevant.
