In response to Nailit’s observation that “It’s gone a bit quiet on here”, in an effort to generate a little discussion that might be of interest to all, ASSUMING THE MAN JESUS EXISTED, who do you think he might have been – and what are your reasons for reaching your conclusion?

Would it not have been almost inevitable that Christ would have learned his father's profession from young childhood though and it's just not really been mentioned because it's so obvious. Joseph is hardly likely to have a helpmate kicking about and not asked him to do anything, plus traditionally Jewish men usually took on the work of their fathers, so I'm imagining that long before he ever because known as 'the messiah' he was helping with the family business, although I fully accept that is not documented.

Not if he wasn't around as a child ....

Perhaps his four brothers took up the mantle ... but we don't know that either.

MrsDanver, //The disciples came down to bring him back//

But the disciples didn't go anywhere. They were around long after Jesus' reputedly departed.
//hereIam, he didn't ask for money, but he did have rich friends and supporters and it appears he never did a day's work for a wage in his life.//

Nevertheless, despite that he was still hammered with tacks.
Jesus fed 5,000 people with two fishes and a loaf of bread. That's not a miracle. That's tapas!

HereIam, happy to help. :o)

MrsDanver, what leads you to your conclusion?
Didn't Mary Magdalene move to Cornwall?
And Jesus was a sailor
When he walked upon the water
And he spent a long time watching
From his lonely wooden tower
And when he knew for certain
Only drowning men could see him
He said "All men shall be sailors then
Until the sea shall free them"
But he himself was broken
Long before the sky would open
Forsaken, almost human
He sank beneath your wisdom like a stone

Personally i think he was the World's first ever hippy. Long hair, beard, robe, preaching peace to all men and obviously smoked a lot of devil grass in his time. When i used to smoke it, i always thought i was the son of god :-)
Medication?
Nah, Calicogirl. She moved to Soho and opened a brothel. Foot fetish a speciality of the house.

Doubt it. One legend has her moving to southern France.
My Mother wanted to call me Magdalene, but my Father vetoed it because of the laundries in Ireland lol- weird family :)
He certainly didn't seem of that time. He was far more advanced/ balanced, spiritually.
One thing that's been noticed, is how respectful and compassionate he was of women. I'd like to think he was real and had some sort of beneficial everlasting purpose. Certainly a mystery.
"But the disciples didn't go anywhere. They were around long after Jesus' reputedly departed."

And taking their cue from the resurrection story:

Ladies and gentlemen, The Rolling Stones!
At least they had some sympathy for the Devil.
I think he was a well-meaning subversive who upset the powers that be - hence he came to sticky end.
