Killing muslims while they were at prayer? Really?
Regardless of your religious persuasion, the question must be asked – What was He thinking?

It's almost as though He doesn't care about human life...

Let us not forget that Indonesia is the most populous Islamic country in the world. You'd think that a truly benevolent God would take more care of his flock.

Who He? sounds like you are a deluded believer, that's sad.

Hello Baldric

I'm using the capitalised “He” to specifically identify the notion of God. It isn't necessary at this moment in time but depending on how this debate goes it may be useful to differentiate between the singular human “he” and the supernatural singular “He”.

Sorry if that distinction offends you.

As for me being a, “deluded believer” you must not have been around here that long. Welcome.
God works in mysterious ways. So mysterious that one might even think such occurrences were actually random.
If one reads the Christian bible it says somewhere that god doesn’t interfere and natural disasters are nowt to do with it (god).

However I don’t know about the Muslim god.

I suppose if you are a believer then the Christian god has punished the Muslim unbelievers.
Maybe just maybe god doesn't exist.
A God would create a universe that works. If that needs to include the occasional localised tragedy then so be it. In such a scenario, folk returning to their deity sooner rather than later is not so terrible an issue in terms of the bigger picture, and the price for having somewhere, where one could live at all. "Thinking about it" won't have anything to do with it. We're here, we get on with it. Massive magical saves would just lead to reliance, lack of helping oneself, and foolhardy behaviour. Not going to happen.
// the question must be asked – What was He thinking?
//

no we dont have to ask it again - all we need do is read the answers that were generated the last time

Didnt Levi write a book on this - was god asleep when the Jews were in the gas chambers ?

go and read it
( or else God and the problem of evil - that has been around for at least 4000y)
// You'd think that a truly benevolent God would take more care of his flock.//
but he didnt - so there is no God !

O God! ( pun intended !) not this again - I might even go and shoot myself and wonder as my last thought - why hasnt god prevented this? as if God had sent a bolt of lightning froo Birdie this would never have happened.

well it IS sunday on AB
God as a man who thinks ....Jesus
that should be 'fink' of course - this is AB
anyway didnt God profess only to save those who er believed?
I am the way and the life (Jn somewhere)
n froo me... (OK J C didnt speak wivva an estuarial accent)

so - - - what about those he created ( er Muslims that is!) who he knew would not be saved, because they werent Christians ?
(Gods knowledge of the future - well he's ominsicent so he must be right? - and foreknowledge of those he has decided not to save but to BURN in HELL!)

oh naughty naughty God ! - go to bed early without your tea!
Hi birdie! long time? People die, some peacefully, some violently, some old, some young. I have learnt that life inevitably deals us unexpected circumstances that remind us to expect the unexpected, these are the unfolding of both Karma and current, and transcend human understanding.

I know. I was being flippant! :-)
Allah is not the God of the bible

I am well aware of the arguments about the problem of good and evil with regards to the existence of God.

I just always find it incredible that people are more than willing to thank God for anything that happens that benefits them or others but never blame God when horrible things happen. It's always a 'heads I win tails you lose' scenario. As Beso says, it's almost as though such disasters are entirely random and that God doesn’t exist...

Theland - “Allah is not the God of the bible”

On that we agree. However, His apparent unwillingness to protect His own people from disasters is a character trait they both share.

Hi. Hope you are well.
//Let us not forget that Indonesia is the most populous Islamic country in the world. //
God's way of levelling the balance perhaps. Overpopulation will be our eventual down fall not climate change
Plenty of experts here to denounce God.
